Eftect: Alarge brass nut is screwed onto a matching bolt.

When each piece is properly aligned, it is possible to thread a cord through both pieces.

While both ends of the cord are securely held, a handkerchiefis placed over the nut and bolt. The spectator himself reaches under the handkerchief and like lightning, the bolt is free from the nut. The cord, nut and bolt can be left for

examination.
